Overview of Encha Matcha
Encha Matcha embodies a quest for purity and accessibility in the world of matcha. Founded in 2014 by Li Gong, after a taste revelation during a trip to Japan, the brand is committed to offering high quality organic matcha, from traditional cultures and without compromising on traceability. Its ambition: to democratize pure tea, rich in antioxidants, while respecting rigorous ecological and ethical standards.
Encha's approach is based on total transparency, from the origin of the leaves to safety certifications.
Origin & vision
Encha Matcha has its roots in the Uji region of Japan, the historic cradle of quality matcha. The brand was founded in 2014 by Li Gong, a former Silicon Valley executive, convinced that organic agriculture could be pure, affordable and tasty. Its headquarters is based in the United States, but production remains exclusively anchored in Japan, with particular attention paid to the mountainous terroirs of Uji, Kyoto, far from contamination zones.
Encha's vision is to build an enlightened community around tea, by promoting an organic and balanced lifestyle.
Ranges & specialties
The Encha Matcha range is structured around two main grades, all from the first harvest of tender leaves, guaranteeing freshness and aromatic complexity. The ceremonial grade matcha is designed for pure tasting in hot water, revealing delicate vegetable notes, with a creamy texture and a total absence of bitterness.
The latte grade, slightly more pronounced, is ideal to be combined with milk or plants, providing energy and sweetness without overloading.
Encha Matcha Products
Ceremonial grade: Organic green tea powder
The Organic Ceremonial Grade Matcha is the flagship product, made from young shoots from the first harvest from the Uji farm. The fine, bright green powder is obtained by stone grinding, thus preserving the aromas and nutrients. It is distinguished by a balanced flavor, combining freshness, a touch of hazelnut and a soft finish, without bitterness. Ideal for purists, it fits into an energizing wellness routine.
Latte Grade: Organic Green Tea Powder
The Organic Latte Grade Matcha is specially designed to accompany milky drinks. It's also from the first harvest, but with a slightly more robust profile, perfect for drilling into the milk without getting lost. Its taste evokes a vegetal sweetness and a touch of umami, offering a warm and balanced experience.
Practical and versatile, it is suitable for beginners as well as fans of modern consumption patterns.
Quality & certifications
Encha Matcha demonstrates constant rigor in terms of safety and traceability. All products are USDA Organic certified, guaranteeing the absence of pesticides, GMOs and synthetic chemical fertilizers. Annual tests are carried out to detect any trace of radiation, none of which has ever been identified, thanks to its location far from Fukushima.
The brand also claims an absence of heavy metals, such as lead, at the strict thresholds of Californian regulations (CA Prop 65), and cites a report from ConsumerLab corroborating these results.
How to take Encha Matcha food supplements?
Encha Matcha powders are easy to use and easily integrated into the day. The ceremony grade is traditionally enjoyed with 1 teaspoon in 150 ml of water at 70–80°C, whipped until foamy.
The latte grade is mixed directly with hot or cold milk, vegan or not. Both forms are well tolerated, without a gross caffeine peak, thanks to the presence of L-theanine, which promotes calm and lasting energy. The taste is naturally mild, requiring no added sugar.
In summary
Encha Matcha stands out for its commitment to organic quality, its authentic Japanese origin and its complete transparency. Whether you are a fan of ceremonies or a lover of lattes, its products offer a pure and balanced sensory experience. Discover the range for a healthy and tasty alternative to coffee.
